The success of your printing project depends a LOT upon our processing your artwork files correctly. Please refer to the requirements below to ensure success for all your jobs.

Acceptable file formats:

Adobe Illustrator - VERSIONS ACCEPTED: Versions from Illustrator 8 and including Illustrator 11. PREFERRED FILE FORMATS: Save as native .ai or .eps file. Convert all fonts to outlines. Images should be embedded. Use document mode CMYK and convert spot colours to CMYK.

Adobe Photoshop - VERSIONS ACCEPTED: Version 6 up to and including Photoshop CS2. PREFERRED FILE FORMATS: Save as native .psd or .tif file. Photos – 300 dpi at 100% print size, or greater. Line art - 300 dpi or greater, saved as bitmap. Do not flatten layers, as it is often helpful in adjusting a file to print to have the original layers if layers were used to create the design. FONTS: Please rasterize all fonts contained within Photoshop images before submitting.

Quark Xpress – Distill files to Adobe Acrobat PDF with all fonts subset.
Macromedia Free Hand, Adobe PageMaker, Corel Draw – we cannot accept files in these native programs. Convert to PDF (ensuring image resolution over 300 dpi, and all fonts subset)

Adobe InDesign - VERSIONS ACCEPTED: Up to and including version 2. Include all placed images and fonts. Do not embed images, just link them. Fonts should for PC platform only.

The following are NOT art programs suitable for print production and should be avoided:

• Microsoft Word
• Microsoft Paint
• Paintbrush
• Corel WordPerfect
• Microsoft Powerpoint
• Microsoft Publisher

The following is REQUIRED information when sending files by email, or our upload link.

• Department / Organization
• Phone number
• Fax number, if available
• Your purchase order or project name

File Sizes:
 
You can email files up to 2 MB to artwork@norprint.com, but we suggest you upload everything to our site. File compression utilities .zip and .sit accepted.

Spot Colours:

We do not print spot colours. We print in 4-colour process (CMYK). Please convert all colours to CMYK equivalents. NOTE: Some colours cannot be accurately reproduced in CMYK--please test before sending!

Proofs:

We will supply a digital proof for your approval. Proofs viewed on a monitor cannot be considered accurate for colour because screens vary enormously in accuracy. Any possible error on an approved proof is not the responsibility of Norprint.

Charges for artwork modifications or changes:

Will be charged at $40 per hour. We will notify you in advance if any artwork requires modification for production.

Media:

We accept electronic artwork on 3.5” floppies, CD, e-mail (up to 2 MB) and via our website file upload. We do not accept zip disks.
